Fur For All

Fur For All

If you've had your eyes on the Fall 2013 runways happening in New York right now, you know that fur is everywhere. Not that fur is anything new, but what is new is that it's being used in such dramatic quantities that would make even Janis Joplin blush.

Sleeves of cocktail dresses and mittens were lush white fur at Altuzarra, and at Alexander Wang models whole arms were cloaked in the furry goodness. Yeti arms might not be your cup of tea, so instead dream of fur in relation to Wes Anderson's best lady, Margot Tenenbaum, standing stoically in her brown fur coat and kohl eyes, Nico playing in the background at the bus stop on the West Side.

As you've learned from Margot, there's no better way to get a devil-may-care attitude than to throw on a fur (or faux) coat in the daytime, like it's nobody's business. Kate Moss mastered it, Phoebe Philo advocates for it at Céline season after season, and the French have basically made it a uniform from Isabel Marant to A.P.C. Plus with temperatures at new levels of cold, you just might not have a choice.
