Stevie’s Picks
To finding the perfect cut-offs:
Even though it's the end of summer and even though these photos may seem redundant because you're back from your trip and all the windows have the Fall collections in them, I still wanted to share this with you because they are literally the best shorts that aren't vintage I've ever found, and that's something.
Most summers I go looking for a pair of cutoffs that will see me through the season.
There have been times I have attempted to find a new staple, but I cant fault them. I think Bijou Phillips in Bully sold me on them. Or maybe it was Rosario in Kids. Either way, it was a Larry Clark revelation.
When I go hunting I usually end up with an old vintage Levi's pair. But what help is that to you? R13 made these. Try them. I think I like them because they are high in rise, and feel beat up but not newly distressed–which is the worst. Shorts that look like you bought them distressed is a real low point in my book. But a little bit of weathered goes a long way.
To End of Summer Shorts (unless you're in the Southern Hemisphere and you've got the whole season ahead of you),
